Cucumber - Mango Smoothie

Here's another smoothie recipe for all you smoothie lovers out there. This smoothie is very light and refreshing and is very good for all those busy bodies out there who needs a refreshing but not filling drink after a workout or practice or doing housework.

The ingredients for this smoothie:
1 whole cucumber, cubed
about half a cup of frozen ripe mango
1 small piece of fresh turmeric root, freshly grated
1 small piece of ginger root, freshly grated
a cup and a half of cold water
half a cup of evaporated milk

Here's how to make this smoothie:
Mix in a blender all the ingredients; except the evaporated milk;  mix well for about 5 minutes or until all the cucumber have been finely blended, then stop. Add the evaporated milk. Taste the smoothie. If you want to add a little bit more    sweetness to the smoothie you can add about three tablespoons of honey. Mix for about 2 or 3 more minutes. Pour in tall glasses, serve and enjoy this refreshing smoothie.

According to eHow: "  Anyone suffering from acid reflux disease is lacking digestive enzymes. Eating more raw foods will assist your body in digestion and assist in curing acid reflux."

This smoothie contains raw fruits and vegetables that will aid in curing acid reflux.

Here are  some of the photos i took while making this smoothie.

Turmeric Smoothie

Hello everyone ! welcome to smoothie junction. Here, i am going to share with you my favorite smoothie recipes. The very first smoothie recipe i am going to share with you all is TURMERIC SMOOTHIE! I have searched through the internet for turmeric smoothie recipes. I found many using powdered turmeric. Sadly i could not find a turmeric smoothie recipe using freshly grated turmeric root. So i experimented with a smoothie recipe i found on the net and used freshly grated turmeric instead of powdered. My smoothie turned out very delicious and refreshing and very healthy. Here's the smoothie recipe!

The Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
half a cup of  frozen ripe mango
1 cup orange juice
1 small piece of turmeric root, grated
1 small piece ginger root, grated
half a cup of evaporated milk
1 cup of cold water
* ( if fresh turmeric root is not available in your place or country, you can use a quarter of a teaspoon of powdered turmeric instead) *

The Procedure:
Mix all the first five ingredients in a blender and mix well for about 2 to 3 minutes then add the evaporated milk and water and blend again for just about  less than a minute. Pour in serving glasses and serve and enjoy.

Here are some photos of the turmeric smoothie i made for my 82 year old mom!
